EDITOR’S NOTE: This blog may look a little different than some of the others we’ve posted on our website, and this is for one simple reason: it is a shameless attempt to get on a very specific episode of the Scrubs re-watch podcast, “Fake Doctors, Real Friends.”

Dear Joelle,

Hello. We are Tom and Pat, the hosts of Reminiscent, a pop-punk and emo podcast. We do weekly episodes on a genre of 2000s music that was featured heavily on the 2000s television program “Scrubs.”

Occasionally, we put together mixtapes one by one on our show and this week, we did our “Scrubs” mixtape episode (which is embedded below).

We are writing for one simple and very shameless reason: we’d love to appear on the “My Point of No Return” episode of Fake Doctors, Real Friends.

Here is our basic pitch:

-We have thought long and hard about this episode, and have even blogged about it before. It’s a turning point in the series, and one could argue it would have been a logical stopping point, leaving the viewer to guess whether J.D. and Elliot wound up together.

-We have thought long and hard about this episode BECAUSE it features a band we hold dear here at Reminiscent: Say Anything, and more specifically, their timeless classic “Alive with the Glory of Love.” It was the perfect song for the perfect moment by a band we loved in a show we loved. It was, likely, the last time we remember rushing to the television to watch anything before streaming took over. We danced to this song at Tom’s wedding, and we’ll continue dancing to it probably forever.

-We promise not to abuse the “1, 2, 3, 4.” You have our word.

-We already have a question picked out, as it relates to the Say Anything scene: Is J.D. a good person? (And perhaps subsequently, is Elliot? Do they deserve each other?)

Anyhow, that’s our pitch.

We hope you all are doing well in this crazy pandemic, and we hope you all keep on doing your thing over at Fake Doctors, Real Friends.

Thanks for your time,

The Reminiscent Podcast
