Upon re-watching the “Helena” music video, our top scientists have deduced the viewer will go through several emotional stages — five, to be exact.

This week on the show, we’re taking a deep dive into another one of Gerard Way’s worlds, this time his experience with the Catholic church as a youth in the form of a My Chemical Romance music video.

Revisiting this was quite an emotional thing, so to help us along we’re going to use the Kübler-Ross five stages of watching the “Helena” music video.

DENIAL: There’s no way this is going to be as good as the “I’m Not Okay” video. Oh, they're working with the same team for this one? Either way, I just don’t see how it could be as good.

ANGER: Even the program they’re handing out at the church is detailed. This is so good it’s making me angry.

DEPRESSION: Oh, fuck. She’s coming out of the casket. I may never see a good music video ever again.

BARGAINING: Dear universe, I’ll listen to “Three Cheers” monthly for the rest of my natural-born life if I can get at least one more album from Gerard Way’s brain, maybe about death or something, and maybe like a comic book, too, would be cool. Just spit-balling.

ACCEPTANCE: I am nothing. I have always been nothing. Also, I wonder if the guitarist with the big hair actually sings the backup vocals?

Thanks for being here everybody.
