Was Taking Back Sunday's 'Fight Club' spoof genius or was I just a white guy who grew up in the 2000s?

A few questions arose: Is this a good music video? Is Taking Back Sunday a good music video band?

This week on the show, we discuss "Cute Without The E (Cut From The Team)” - one of Taking Back Sunday’s earliest hits.

A few questions arose: Is this a good music video? Is Taking Back Sunday a good music video band? We have already shared our thoughts on the MakeDamnSure video, but “Cute Without The E” is a trickier case.

Mainly because of the following question - was it a genius take on the cult classic film “Fight Club” or was I just a white guy who grew up in the 2000s?

Shot for shot, it’s a very good spoof on the movie. Adam makes a fine alter ego, and Nolan does a fine job beating the snot out of himself. The subliminal messaging was solid, it’s a fine spoof.

Very good for what it is, probably.

Here’s another quick thought on the song title, which, is softened by the parenthesis. Just a guess, but it feels like an add-on. A few suggestions to the studio exec to wrote the “cut from the team” part in, just in case the point doesn’t quite come across as it is: how about Cute Without The E, But not in a razor-y way? Or Cute Without The E, plus a different E?

Anyways, we hope you enjoy the episode, feel free to tweet your thoughts at @_ReminiscentFM. Thanks for listening, everybody.
