Recently on the show we finally did it. We finally tackled Angels and Airwaves’ first record, “We Don’t Need To Whisper.”
Now we could talk about how much we tend to gush about all of the albums we revisit on the show, or how this one holds a special place in our hearts being Tom’s first record after leaving blink-182. But mostly, I’d like to spend some time talking about something else: What exactly was happening during that recording process? “We Don’t Need To Whisper” has to be the most chains have jangled in my ear since watching Goofy’s portrayal of Jacob Marley in Mickey’s Christmas Carol.
So, if you don’t mind, let’s rank the songs from ‘We Don’t Need To Whisper’ based on whether they made me speculate wildly about the recording process:
1) Valkyrie Missile
Yes.
2) Distraction
Yes.
3) Do It For Me Now
You betcha.
4) The Adventure
Definitely.
5) A Little's Enough
Sure.
6) The War
Yup.
7) The Gift
Yup.
8) It Hurts
Yeah.
9) Good Day
Yup.
10) Start The Machine
Oh, for sure. Perhaps this most of all.
Thanks for being here everybody.
